This Policy applies only to your use of the Site. The Site lists and compares parking providers ("Providers"). When you book with a Provider, that Provider will separately collect and process your personal data as an independent data controller, under its own privacy policy.

We are not responsible for the privacy practices, security, or data handling of any Provider or other third party, and we strongly encourage you to read each Provider's privacy policy before booking.

Depending on how you use the Site, we may collect:

• Name and contact details (email address, phone number, postal address);
• Vehicle make, model and registration number;
• Booking and reservation details (dates, location, price);
• Payment information (processed via our payment provider; we do not store full card details);
• Account login details, where you create an account;
• Technical data: IP address, browser type and version, device and operating system, referring URLs, pages visited and time spent on the Site;
• Communications you send us (emails, calls, chat messages, reviews and feedback);
• Cookie and similar tracking data (see Section 9).

We only process personal data where we have a lawful basis to do so.

(a) Performance of a contract: to generate quotes, process your booking, share necessary details with the Provider you book with (e.g. name and vehicle registration), and provide customer support.

(b) Consent: to send you marketing emails, SMS or other promotional communications, which you may withdraw at any time by using the unsubscribe link in any email or by contacting us.

(c) Legitimate interests: to:

• Personalise and improve the Site and your experience of it;
• Carry out analytics, market research and service improvement;
• Detect, investigate and prevent fraud, abuse and security incidents;
• Enforce our Terms of Use and protect our legal rights;
• Communicate with you about your booking or enquiry;
• Compile aggregated, anonymised statistics that we may share with prospective investors, partners or advertisers.

Where we rely on legitimate interests, you have the right to object at any time — see Section 8.

(d) Legal obligation: where we must disclose or retain data to comply with the law, a court order, or a request from a regulator or law enforcement.

We may disclose your personal data to:

• Providers — the parking provider(s) you book with, so far as necessary to fulfil your booking (e.g. name, vehicle registration, arrival/departure details). Once shared, the Provider acts as an independent data controller and is responsible for its own use of your data;
• Payment processors, to take payment and process refunds securely;
• IT, hosting, analytics and customer service providers who process data on our behalf, under contractual obligations to keep it secure and use it only for the purposes we specify;
• Comparison, referral and affiliate partners through which you may have arrived at the Site, where a booking is attributable to their referral;
• Professional advisers, insurers and regulators, where necessary;
• A buyer or successor in the event of a sale, merger, restructuring or transfer of all or part of our business or assets, on the basis described in Section 11;
• Courts, regulators, government or law enforcement bodies, where we are legally required to, or where necessary to establish, exercise or defend legal claims, or to detect, prevent or investigate fraud or other unlawful activity.

We do not sell your personal data to third parties for their own independent marketing purposes.

Providers and partners act as independent data controllers. Once your data is passed to a Provider or a partner for the purposes described above, that party is responsible, as an independent data controller, for its own compliance with data protection law. We accept no liability for how a Provider or other third party subsequently collects, uses, stores or discloses your personal data, and any queries or complaints about their handling of your data should be directed to them.

Most personal data is stored within the UK or the European Economic Area (EEA). Where data is transferred outside the UK/EEA (for example, to a supplier or Provider based elsewhere), we will ensure appropriate safeguards are in place, such as the UK International Data Transfer Agreement, the EU Standard Contractual Clauses, or transfers to a country recognised as providing adequate protection.

We keep your personal data only as long as we need it:

• Booking-related data is generally retained for up to six (6) years after the relevant trip or transaction, for accounting, tax and legal purposes;
• Marketing data is retained for as long as your consent remains valid, or until you unsubscribe;
• Account data is retained for as long as your account remains active;
• We may retain data for longer where required by law, or to establish, exercise or defend legal claims;
• Data may persist on secure backup or archive systems for a limited period after deletion, for legal, tax or regulatory purposes.

Subject to applicable law (including UK GDPR), you have the right to:

• Be informed about how we use your data;
• Access a copy of the personal data we hold about you;
• Rectification of inaccurate or incomplete data;
• Erasure of your data in certain circumstances;
• Restrict our processing of your data;
• Data portability — receive your data in a portable format;
• Object to processing based on legitimate interests or for direct marketing;
• Withdraw consent at any time, where processing is based on consent;
• Avoid being subject to decisions based solely on automated processing which produce legal or similarly significant effects, save where permitted by law.

To exercise any of these rights, contact us using the details in Section 1. We may ask you to verify your identity before actioning a request. We aim to respond within one month, though this may be extended for complex requests.

If you are unhappy with how we have handled your data, you have the right to complain to the UK Information Commissioner's Office (ICO) at ico.org.uk, though we would appreciate the opportunity to resolve your concern directly first.

The Site uses cookies and similar technologies to operate securely, remember your preferences, analyse traffic, and where you consent to serve relevant advertising. This includes first-party cookies set by us and third-party cookies (e.g. analytics and advertising providers). We use appropriate technical and organisational measures to protect personal data, including HTTPS encryption, restricted internal access, and secure storage of payment data (tokenised, not stored in reusable form). However, no method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

If Parkaro or Parkaro Limited undergoes a sale, merger, reorganisation, or transfer of all or part of its business or assets, personal data may be transferred to the relevant new owner or controller, who will be entitled to use it for the same purposes described in this Policy. Where required by law, we will notify you of any such transfer.

The Site is not directed at, and we do not knowingly collect personal data from, anyone under the age of 16. If you believe a child has provided us with personal data without appropriate consent, please contact us so we can delete it.

The Site may contain links to third-party websites, including Providers, partners and advertisers. We have no control over, and accept no responsibility or liability for, the privacy practices or content of any third-party site. We recommend you review the privacy policy of any site you visit via a link on the Site.

To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, Parkaro's role is limited to operating the comparison and booking platform. We are not responsible for, and exclude all liability in connection with, the acts, omissions, data handling practices, or security failures of any Provider or third party to whom your data is disclosed in accordance with this Policy. This Policy governs our own processing of your data only.

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time, for example to reflect changes in the law or our practices. Any changes will be posted on this page with an updated "Last updated" date. Where changes are significant, we will take reasonable steps to notify you (e.g. by email or a Site notice). Continued use of the Site after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the revised Policy.

This Privacy Policy is governed by, and construed in accordance with, the laws of England and Wales, and the parties submit to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.
